Client Profile:
Our client is an independent firm of actuaries and consultants which employs 300 partners and staff in 6 offices throughout the UK.
Overall purpose of the role:
Reporting to the IT Manager you will join the IT team as a Profund Programmer/Developer. The work will cover the full life cycle of Classic projects, ranging from analysis and implementation, to testing and delivery of calculation changes. The projects will relate to both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes, and could involve setting up new schemes or amending existing calculations. It may also include manipulating, importing or exporting data.
The role will also include the migration of schemes to a new P3 Pensions and Payroll system which would involve Data conversions from Profund to P3's SQL Database structure, Calculation conversions and letter conversions. Training will be given on the new systems and the SQL Database systems as deemed necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
High-level knowledge of using Profund Classic instruction sets. Good understanding of the Classic paths of calculation, benefit and scheme code parameters, and the standard instruction sets.
Experience in upgrading and maintaining the Profund software and Databases.
Good working knowledge of DB / DC schemes.
Experienced in writing variable updates.
Understanding of Classic DB / DC functionality.
Experienced using Advanced Report Writer.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Experience of complex Classic DC reporting and variable updates.
Knowledge of the Classic standard interface.
Experience of data conversion mapping to data dictionary fields.
Experience using dataviews and DDE.
Desirable:
Experience in SQL
Experience in VBA.
Good client management skills.
