The Group has its headquarters in St Helens, as well as sites situated at nearby Lathom, Lancashire, is the European Technical Centre, a Group Research and Development facility.
The company employs more than 4,000 people across the UK alone, in activities ranging from the manufacture of float, rolled and wired glass to glass processing automotive original. We are now looking to recruit a graduate to join our team at our European Technical Centre, Lathom (Ormskirk, Lancashire)
The successful candidate will join the On Line Coating team.This group is responsible for the development of new added value functional coatings on glass and the development of new coating technologies.You will conduct the growth of new coatings using chemical vapour deposition as well as other coating technologies still under investigation e.g. nanoparticulate.You will be involved in wide range of analytical techniques both within the group and in conjunction with our in house analytical section.You will be part of a multi functional project team with colleagues from technical centres in Japan, Germany and the USA. Some travel to our other technical centre and facilities around the world as part of your development process is anticipated.
Qualifications.& Experience.
Degree in Chemistry or Material Science.
Experience with Microsoft applications
Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (due to limited public transport)
Ability to speak a foreign language would be a benefit but not essential
Ability/willingness to undertake foreign travel.
