GMPTE is responsible for planning major strategic investments in public transport in Greater Manchester. It specifies the level and quality of services on the local train and tram networks and on some of the bus network. It also provides cheaper fares for elderly people, children and people with disabilities as well as bus stations, shelters and stops and travel information. A key role of GMPTE is to promote public transport.
As a Travelshop assistant you will be expected to answer enquiries in relation to public transport. The post also involves advising passengers of passes, permits and tickets available for travel plus selling the range of tickets and other services available in our travelshops.
With proven experience of dealing with the general public, ideally in a customer focused retail environment, you must have a good geographical knowledge of the Greater Manchester area, the ability to accurately handle cash transactions and first class communication skills
