Description:

We are seeking to appoint a creative and well motivated worker to the following Youth Worker post.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is well recognised as a programme of adventurous, practical and cultural activity where young people can learn new skills and meet new friends.

The award is developed and administered through the Outdoor Education Team within the Youth Service and the joint postholder will be responsible for the smooth running of the award across the borough.

You must have:

experience of working with young people within a variety of informal educational settings
experience of co-ordinating and delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
relevant youth work qualification to the equivalent of NVQ Level 4
awareness of the potential barriers to involvement and progression in learning and potential strategies to address them
the ability to engage, establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with young people.
