Supply Chain Manager-Infrastructure: Job Details

Our client is looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for developing the strategy and negotiate contracts relating to structure of global supply chain for what is one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK. You will to work within an organisation that provides integrated sourcing and supply chain solutions.
 
The main purpose of the role will be to manage the global logistics function at a strategic level through the development of robust systems and processes and develop training programmes to ensure company wide understanding of the logistics process.
 
Your main objectives and responsibilities will be:
?          Integration within the new organisation structure
?          Create, implement and manage the businesses operational logistics structure
?          Ensure deliveries meet or exceed customer KPI?s
?          Manage and control the Logistics Spend and commercial contracts
?          Implement the Loyalty Programme Warehouse and outbound operations
?          Create and implement the logistics structure for Venture Africa
?          Develop and roll out the  stock system and track and trace for global shipments
?          Devise and implement the strategic direction, policy, control and management of the supply chain function
?          Drive the facilitation and interface between buyers, suppliers, finance and account management to ensure that there is a strong infrastructure in place for the effective running of the logistics process
?          Align the global logistics structure to support business growth from the identification of the business need through to performance measurement
?          Lead and manage the commercial relationship with logistics suppliers to ensure the business benefits from best value pricing and service
?          Raise the profile of the Supply Chain function throughout the business to ensure company wide understanding of its policies, approach and importance to the growth of the business
?          Work across the group to support logistics projects, providing leadership in savings initiatives and consultancy advice to customers to support the improvement requirements in their supply chains
?          Initiate and develop the IT requirements of the supply chain function
?          Sponsor and Project Manage key strategic projects, which include the set-up of new warehouses and implementation of transport providers warehouse locations and transport lead-time service to customers
Work with legal, finance and logistics suppliers to access new global territories, provide knowledge on customs and local fiscal representation requirementsYou will have previous experience of assessing and developing optimised supply structures and warehousing , and will have implemented these globally. A knowledge of South East Asia and Africa would be ideal.
You must be motivated and enthusiastic with a good academic background.
You will also be willing to travel extensively as part of the role.
